Incorporating oils into my haircare routine has been one of the best things I've ever done for the health of my mane— full stop. It looks considerably shinier and is a heck of a lot softer to the touch, while breakage is no longer a concern. I've talked all about how the regular use of oil has helped transform my hair as I continue to grow it out before, but this product from Gisou has quickly climbed the ranks to achieve No.1 hair oil status in my books, which, let's face it, is no small feat.
If you're unfamiliar with the brand, it was started by Negin Mirsalehi— whose long, thick locks are the epitome of hair goals— after years of incorporating honey from her father's bee farm into her haircare routine, with the help of her hairdresser mother who has a long history of mixing honey into her beauty treatments. The main draw of doing so is the plethora of minerals, vitamins and antioxidants derived from the honey itself, which help repair and replenish locks from the inside out. It also helps to maintain the hair's natural moisture balance, leading to stronger, healthier hair all around. And completely unrelated (but totally significant superficially) is how stunning the packaging is... we're talking serious top-shelf appeal here, people!
Ingredients and aesthetics aside, let's get into my actual experience with the product. Truth be told— pretty awesome. I love that contrary to what you might expect, it doesn't leave your hair greasy in the least. In fact, the oil absorbs quickly and locks in shine— keeping any post-blow dry frizz at bay— but my favourite way to use the product by far is as an overnight treatment between washes. I can't stress enough how healthy my locks look after having used this product for only a few weeks, so I can only imagine what the state of my hair will be with continued use. Negin, I tip my hat to you and yours for coming up with such a magical hair elixir.
