One of the hottest trends for fall is undoubtedly velvet, with no shortage of tops, dresses and jackets to choose from hitting stores in the most delicious of colour palates... and you know what? I'm a very, very happy girl. Any excuse to wear the fabric is fine by me, partially because it reminds me of being a kid in the 90s, but also because there's nothing more satisfying to touch than velvet. And although this season's influences seem to be a little more Renaissance than Married With Children, what with all the bell sleeves, ruffles and full-length silhouettes out there, I'm still a fan... so you can imagine my delight when I came across this beauty of a tank at Zara recently. It's the perfect transitional piece because you can throw it on and go during warm-weather days (yes, we still have those), but the texture really lends itself to layering under cozy knits and jackets when things cool down a bit. Either way, the key word with this piece (and the fabric itself, really) is versatility... Long live velvet! xx
