If you follow me on Snapchat, you'll know all about my newfound love and appreciation for H&M's new line of beauty products; and although I was reluctant to try it at first, I can now say with certainty say that I get it. The hype is real. I've tried a pretty well-rounded assortment of the range, and I've yet to find a product that I haven't enjoyed using... plus the girl at the store told me that the products are made in the same factory as MAC, so that's saying something. Read on for the 411 on some of my favourites!
First up, let's talk brushes. The range is filled with a wide assortment to choose from, but to get started, I went for a foundation brush, a retractable powder brush, and of course, an eye shadow brush. They were all under $15, and they're really good value for the price — especially the retractable brush, which now holds a permanent place in my purse. I'm impressed. But not as much as I'm impressed with their Pure Radiance Powder Blusher, which deposits the perfect amount of colour and stays on my cheeks for the majority of the day. Total bonus? The packaging is, just, *hands up emoji* I picked it up in the shade "Rosy Brown," and I've worn it every single day since — but to be fair, I've also used 90% of the products you see here every day as well, so, you know, there's that.
Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to try the nail polishes out yet because I have Shellac on my nails at the moment, but boy am I excited about these colours — they're the perfect assortment of earthy nudes, and I'll report back on them once I've had some time to test them out... stay tuned.
Now for potentially my favourite products in the range — we're talking perfect-skin-in-a-bottle level shizzz here, people. I picked up the All-Day Liquid Foundation, the Custom Concealer Trio, and the Perfectionist Finishing Powder, and I've really enjoyed using all of them in tandem. The foundation gives a nice, medium coverage, while the powder helps keep my shiny t-zone at bay. The concealer trio is also quite good, but the shades aren't the best for me, and one of the concealers has already fallen out of the pot, so this one's not a show-stopper for me... #FullDisclosure
I also tried an eye pencil, a brow pencil and one of their matte lipsticks, and it's aces all around. The lipsticks in this collection are nice and matte without drying out the lips, and the colour range is pretty decent as well (I picked up the shade "Lenox Lounge"). What I was most impressed with, however, is the brow pencil, which glides on with really good colour payoff — I like it almost as much as my Face Shop brow pencil if you can believe it!
Last but certainly not least, I picked up two eye shadows from the collection — "Gingerbread" from the High Impact Eye Colour range, and "Champers" from the Colour Essence Eye Cream line. Both are really good, although I do enjoy using the powder shadow more than the cream one because it doesn't crease on me as much. Both colours are really pretty, and although I don't usually wear a lot of eye shadow, I've been wearing Gingerbread on the daily — totally worth a try for all my makeup-loving ladies out there! xx
