Easy Marble Dip Mug

I'm slightly obsessed with the whole marble trend that's taking over everything from home decor to clothing and accessories (I desperately want this bag!), so it's no wonder that this unsuspecting mug got a sleek new makeover on my watch. It's beyond easy to do, and actually a lot of fun, so I would definitely recommend trying this one out if you have some downtime this weekend! #FeelingCrafty

SUPPLIES: CERAMIC MUG | NAIL POLISH | WARM WATER | DISPOSABLE BOWL OR TRAY
TIME: 15 MINUTES (NOT INCLUDING DRY TIME) | DIFFICULTY RATING: EASY
Fill a disposable tray or bowl with warm water, then add a few drops of your desired nail polish. You can add as much or as little colour as you like, and even use a toothpick to disperse the polish to create your desired effect (sidenote: if you want to add more than a few drops of polish, then save yourselves the grief and pour it directly from the bottle). Just be sure to pop open a window as you do this, because I definitely got a little lightheaded towards the end of this project (you know, unless that's what you're into).

And now for the fun part — the dipping! Place your mug onto the surface of the water and move it around to coat it as desired (avoiding the areas that your mouth will touch). I had to add more drops to cover the whole mug, but you can feel it out based on the size of mug you're working with. Fun fact? If you make a mistake or don't like how a certain part of the mug turned out, then just grab your nail polish remover and give yourself a little do-over... talk about pressure free. Just don't dip the same area twice — if you feel like your mug needs an extra coat of polish, wait for it to dry fully before going in for round two.

When you're satisfied with the end result, gently wipe the mug with paper towel and set it aside for a couple hours to dry fully — it's as easy as that! Unfortunately the mug will no longer be dishwasher or microwave friendly, but I'm thinking the cuteness-payoff makes the tradeoff worthwhile... if not,  hey, there could always be a jazzy pen holder or flower vase in your future. xx
