Wrapped Wire Rings

I've said it before and I'll say it again — rings are the greatest. I want to wear them on every finger and collect as many as humanly possible (only slight exaggeration), so in my quest to use up the DIY supplies I have kicking around (read: taking over my living room), I thought I would use wire to whip up some casual rings. Easy doesn't even begin to describe this one, so grab your mandrels (because we all have those, right?) and let's do this thing!

SUPPLIES: WIRE | PLIERS OR WIRE CUTTERS | RING MANDREL
TIME: 5 MINUTES | DIFFICULTY RATING: EASY
Start by wrapping wire around the mandrel according to your ring size. I like a loose, messy effect, so I kept my wrapping irregular, leaving an inch of extra wire at the end. Cut off any excess wire, and remove the ring from the mandrel, holding it in place with your fingers.
Take the extra wire and wrap it around the back of the ring tightly, making sure to absorb the other wire end into the loop. Press down firmly to clasp both ends together and keep everything in place. Just make sure both ends are securely tucked in during this part so that they don't scratch your skin when you put on the ring (ouchies).
And that's it! For about five minutes and practically no money at all, you have yourself some wrapped wire rings that look just as good worn on the knuckle as they do on your finger proper... How's that for using up supplies? xx
