Hairdresser's Invisible Oil

I'm not going to lie — I've never believed in dropping money on haircare. Makeup and skincare, no problem, but hair? No way. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I grew up with a dad who owned a hair salon (aka- I always got products for free), but the idea of dropping $42 on a conditioner makes me want to grab my wallet and run for the hills. But the recent hype over Bumble and Bumble's latest launch — particularly the Hairdresser's Invisible Oil Primer — made me curious. Was it really as good as the reviews I had read online? Did it really smell as orgasmically good as they said it did? I had to know.

So off to Sephora I went to pick one up, only to find that all three locations in my city were completely sold out, as was my favourite local beauty boutique and all the salons I tried. Not being able to get it naturally made me want it all the more, so I obsessed until I finally tracked one down at a local salon (you rule, Mousy Browns!). The results officially made me change my mind about luxury haircare... And that's saying something.

The primer was just so dreamy — and the shampoo/conditioner samples I got from Sephora as a consolation were also pretty rad — that I decided to bite the bullet and invessssst in all three products. It may have hurt, but damn was it worth it! I have dry/damaged hair, so I found it to be just the right amount of replenishing without weighing anything down or greasing up my locks — quite the opposite, actually; the primer in particular kept my hair looking cleaner longer, and I found myself not reaching for dry shampoo until day 3 (a BIG improvement for me). And for the record: Orgasmic doesn't even begin to describe the smell. I don't know if I can stomach spending this much on my hair every month, but I'm fully a high-end haircare convert now... Believe the hype, ladies! xx

In other news, it's time to announce a winner to my $100 LOFT gift card giveaway — are you ready? Congrats go out to... Lori Butler! Yay! A BIG thank you to everyone who entered, and stay tuned for some more great giveaways coming up soon!

    1. Absolutely, these babies are dry hair pimps! (does that sound weird?) And if you do try them (which you totally should!) ask Sephora for samples first... unless you're feeling spendy ;)

  5. I go to Shampoo Hair Bar in Fairfield and they are a Bumble and Bumble salon...my stylist used this product on my hair which is curly and often tends to frizz in the heat and WOW! it tames and calms the hair leaves it luxuriously soft and manageable...worth the money IMO.
