Marble Cake Stand DIY
If you're anything like me, your home has been filling up with marble bits at an alarming rate, long replacing all those rose gold embellishments that came before it. There's no doubt that marble is beautiful— especially when it comes to kitchenwear— but it can get super pricey, super fast. So I thought I would share a fun little project you can whip up over the weekend in no time flat, saving you a few bucks and giving you an excuse to eat cake... and, you know, since today is my birthday and all, I figured cake was a must. So without further ado, let's get to DIYing!

SUPPLIES:  ROUND PIECE OF MARBLE + MARBLE TOOTHBRUSH HOLDER  (BOTH VIA HOMESENSE)  |  E-6000 GLUE

Before we start, just a quick note on where I sourced my materials. Both the marble round and toothbrush holder were picked up at HomeSense because I've found it to be the most affordable place to source marble accessories, but you could check Target for similar pieces if you're lucky enough to live near one. If you're not hung up on having a circular cake stand per se, you could always hit up a hardware store for a piece of marble and use some thick copper piping or something comparable for the base— there's so much room to get creative with this one!

Anyway, let's get to the instructions... all you have to do is place a generous amount of glue (I swear by E-6000) on the toothbrush holder and position it in the centre of the marble round. Press down firmly for a few minutes to help it adhere, then put weight on the base of the cake stand for a few hours until it's fully secured. Et voila! An easy-to-make (and ridiculously affordable) dupe for a high-end marble cake stands... not bad, huh?
