As far as colour combinations go, I'm all about that classic camel, black, and white life... it's simple, easy, and want to know the best part? I could totes re-wear these separates in countless different combinations... and believe me, I do. Take these culottes for instance — they've weaselled their way into my #ootds more times than I can count, but they're so simple and unassuming that (hopefully) you couldn't even tell. But that's just the magic of neutrals, I suppose. This long-line camel vest is probably my favourite addition to the ol' wardrobe last year (crazy that last month was last year, no?), and it too has the ability to morph into countless combos (like this more casual, denim-n-oxfords look)... you go, little vest.

If you're wondering where to best invest in neutrals, my rule of thumb is always coats (and by extension, vests), sweaters, dresses and pants — tops can be a little more fun and colourful, and I really don't have an opinion on skirts at the moment, so let's just go ahead and forget that those even exist, shall we? As for accessories, always start with a black bag and footwear and build from there, while having fun with things like jewelry and scarves. It's those little elements that can completely transform the look of your more neutral basics, so go ahead and mix-n-match, or just pile them all on at once, Apfel style... either way, you're, like, really pretty. xx

  2. I`m in love with this look! The color combo is very sofisticated in a cool way. I have a blazer in a similar shade of camel that I always wear in a lot of different ways, check out how I styled it with a checkered shirt for work: http://lilasirena.blogspot.mx/2016/01/style-checks-at-office.html
