Getting Holiday Ready

It may be mid November, but this girl is itching for the holiday season to begin... The decorations! The sweets! The parties! There's little I don't like about the holidays, and above all else, I revel in all the many excuses it gives me to dress up. I may be a jeans-and-an-oversized-coat kind of girl 90 per cent of the time, but something about this time of year makes me want to don the girliest of ensembles with the prettiest of details. Sequins, taffeta and pretty accessories are the name of the game, and I for one am already starting to plan my party outfits. #NeverTooSoon
David's Bridal has long been my secret go-to spot for occasion dresses; I've used them for styling gigs in the past, and even picked up my wedding dress from them this past summer (but more on that later), so when they approached me to style a dress from their holiday collection, it felt like a no-brainer. The only hard part was picking a style — with so many cuts, colours and styles available this season, I was honestly stumped. Leave it to me to stick to classic black with subtle sequin detailing though... what can I say, the heart wants what it wants. And let's be real, the heart knows that a little black dress can get lots of play over the holidays without anyone noticing. Sneaky sneaky, little heart — I like your style.
If you're in the market for a new holiday dress this year, I would honestly recommend checking out David's — there's literally something for every taste (duh, look at all the options!), size (0-22) and budget (can you say dresses starting under $100?).
