Follow Your Natural Instincts

Believe it or not, I've never actually coloured my hair before. Sure, there was a brief stint with SunIn as a kid (it didn't work on me) and I may or may not have used permanent markers to spice up my hair as an angsty teen, but actual hair colour? Nope. I always told myself that I would just wait until my hair turned grey to start dying it, but ever since I cut my hair a couple months ago (another thing I never thought I would do!), I've been a lot more interested in haircare. The irony of all this is that I grew up with an uber talented hair stylist for a dad... go figure. So when Clairol approached me to try their new Natural Instincts Crema Keratina, I decided to take the plunge and kiss my virgin hair goodbye.
I think what appealed to me most about this colouring system is that I could do it from the comfort of my own home, and in record time — the whole process only took 20 minutes and was easy enough for even a newbie like me to figure out, and that's saying something. When it came time to choose a shade, I decided to go with chocolate brown so I could reap all the benefits of demi-permanent hair colour (aka rich colour and shine) without changing my look or exposing my hair to all the damage that permanent colour can cause... smart, no?
{ Mix the colour in with the activator and shake vigorously, then apply it to your roots and throughout your hair. After 20 minutes, rinse the colour out and apply the Colour Treat Conditioner provided in the kit for a couple minutes. When that's all done, you can expect a nice overall colour boost, even on dark hair! }
Another thing that attracted me to this particular dye is its Amonia-free formula that contains Keratin, which smooths and protects hair while it does its thing, and leaves it super soft and shiny — not bad for an at-home system, huh? Not that I have much to compare it to, but still (winky face). So if you're interested in enriching your colour or just trying something new, I would definitely recommend checking out this range (available at Walmart and Loblaws) — quick, easy and affordable for the win! xx

  1. Don't worry about approving this comment. Just wanted to give you a heads up that you wrote onions at the bottom of your post instead of opinions.

    1. Lol, someone else pointed that out to me too — thanks girl! All those late nights must be catching up with me :)
