'Donut' Macarons

I don't know about you guys, but there are two things I know for sure: 1. Golden Girls is a metaphor for life, and 2. there's no such thing as too much sugar... or coffee (take that, modern medicine). And since I can't seem to get enough of donuts and macaron lately — lightbulb moment! Why not combine the two in the best way I can — after all, I'm no pastry chef. And voila, the "donut" macaron was born. Sprinkles and all.
Using chocolate, lemon or vanilla macaron (I sourced mine from the Italian Centre as Duchess was closed), pipe some frosting on the top of each macaron, creating a donut shape. The particular icing I used seemed to dry alarmingly fast, so it's a good idea to add your sprinkles before moving on to the next macaron... learn from my mistakes, friends!
And that's it! A quick and easy food hack that's sure to kill at your next fete... speaking of which, anyone want to come over? I'm drowning in donut macaron over here. xx
