The Lipstick Mark Tote

Looking for an easy gift idea for your girlfriends, or maybe just a fun project to whip up this Valentine's? Well it doesn't get more easy, or more quintessentially "Valentine's," that this. That's right my friends, I kissed a tote bag and I liked it, which is soooo much more personal than just stamping a bag or adding embellishments, no? So on top of making a super cute tote to lug all your stuff around in, you can also practice those sweet make out skills of yours before the big day — double whammy!

SUPPLIES: CANVAS TOTE BAG (VIA MICHAELS) | LIPSTICK | PAINT BRUSH | MOD PODGE

TIME: 1 HOUR (INCLUDING DRY TIME) | DIFFICULTY RATING: EASY

I started by picking a few different lipstick shades — a light pink, a bright fuchsia, an orangey red and a darker plum — and lathered them on my lips thickly each time I kissed the bag. Play around with the colour placement of each kiss, and just like your aforementioned make out skills, switch it up a bit!

Once that's all done (and you've taken off the lipstick and heavily moisturized your lips — trust me on this one), lightly go over each kiss mark with a coat of Mod Podge, taking care not to smudge the lipstick. Let it dry fully, then sit back and admire your handiwork... nicely done, sweet lips!

Thanks for reading lovelies, and if you decide to try this project at home, send me a pic — I'd love to see! xx
