Repurposed Brooch Ring

I've been going through my closet BIG TIME this week (if you live in Edmonton, we're having a designer sample sale / blogger clothing sale hybrid this Saturday!), and in the process, I came across a brooch that I have no intention of ever wearing. That's when it hit me — this sucker would make one hell of a cocktail ring. The beauty of this DIY is that we all have those bits hiding in the depths of our dressers that we don't really love — nor would anyone else we know — so rather than just tossing them out, they can be reimagined into something fun and new. So if that sounds like you, keep reading!

SUPPLIES: OLD BROOCH | RING BASE | E-6000 GLUE | NAIL POLISH
TIME: 30 MINUTES | DIFFICULTY LEVEL: EASY
Start by removing the back of your brooch, and when that's done, go over the surface with a thick layer of nail polish. I chose a metallic silver shade, but use whatever colour (or colours!) you prefer. I did about three coats of varnish on mine, letting each coat dry before applying the next.

When everything is nice and dry (and shiny!), glue the brooch to the ring base and allow it to dry fully. Easy peasy. xx

  1. I would never have thought of this. Not that I have many brooches but I'm sure this could apply to a few leftover jewelry items that seem to be lurking in all the hidden corners of my bedroom.
